How should an explosion-proof Roots blower be operated and used? 1. It is essential to thoroughly inspect all components of the blower, checking whether each part is intact, whether the bolts and nuts are securely tightened, the installation quality of all fasteners and locating pins, as well as the installation quality of the intake and exhaust pipes and valves.
Explosion-proof Roots blower How do I operate and use it?
1. All components of the blower must be thoroughly inspected to ensure that they are complete, that all bolts and nuts are securely tightened, that the installation quality of all fasteners and locating pins is satisfactory, and that the installation quality of the intake and exhaust pipes and valves is up to standard.
2. It must not bear additional loads from pipes, valves, frames, or other components to ensure the safe operation of the fan.
3. Search for explosion-proof Roots blowers, air blowers, and motors, and verify the quality on the front side.
4. Confirm that the base around the explosion-proof Roots blower equipment is solid and that the anchor bolts are securely tightened.
5. Pour the engine oil of the specified grade into the oil sump; use a medium-load gear oil with lubricant grade N220.
6. Ensure that the motor’s rotation direction meets the specified requirements.
7. A belt cover (protective guard) should be installed on the pulley (coupling) to ensure operational safety.
8. Ensure that the inlet and outlet valves of the fan, as well as the rotor of the disc fan, are all fully open. Verify that there is no jamming, collision, or friction, and confirm that everything is functioning properly before starting the fan for commissioning.
9. Explosion-proof Roots blower air load test run
(1) Newly installed or repaired blowers all require training and commissioning.
(2) The concept of operating an explosion-proof Roots blower is to run it with the inlet and outlet valves fully open.
There should be no unusual odors or smoke, nor any sounds of impact or friction. The radial vibration velocity at the bearing area shall not exceed 6.3 mm/s.
Run at no load for about 30 minutes. If the condition is normal, you can proceed to run under load. If the explosion-proof Roots blower is found to be operating abnormally, in addition to inspection, you should also perform a no-load commissioning.
10. The fan operates continuously under normal load.
The adjustment must be carried out step by step; the load cannot be increased to the rated load in one go.
(2) The so-called rated load refers to the static pressure drop between the inlet and the exhaust port, and the pressure value is determined according to the nameplate. Under normal exhaust-port pressure conditions, attention should be paid to changes in the inlet pressure to prevent overload.
Explosion-proof Roots blower During normal operation, it is strictly prohibited to completely shut off the inlet and outlet valves. Regularly monitor the pressure conditions and check whether the safety valve is functioning properly to relieve excess pressure in case of overload. Otherwise, promptly adjust the safety valve to ensure that it does not fail to operate under overload conditions.
(4) Due to the characteristics of Roots blowers, it is strictly prohibited for gas from the exhaust port to flow directly into the blower’s intake port over a prolonged period (as this would cause fluctuations in the intake-port temperature). Otherwise, the safety of the machine could be compromised. If backflow adjustment is necessary, cooling measures must be implemented.
The explosion-proof Roots blower requires frequent attention to the oil lubricant’s flow and level. Regularly inspect the explosion-proof Roots blower and keep detailed records to ensure proper lubrication flow. Equipment for maintaining the explosion-proof Roots blower can be serviced through automatic oil injection systems.
11. When the parking blower is operating at full load, it must not be stopped suddenly. Instead, the load should be gradually reduced before stopping the machine to avoid damaging it. Users may establish additional detailed rules for emergency stop procedures.
12. For the safe operation and long service life of the fan, ensure accurate and regular maintenance, and pay close attention to any signs of potential accidents.
