Introduction to Material Conveying Fans

Release date:

The material conveying fan supplies air for fuel combustion and provides ambient air to the pulverized coal burner and the cooling burner nozzle. It prevents air and powder from separating and deflecting at the primary air nozzle, which could lead to slagging on the water-cooled walls. An ignition device is installed at the lowest secondary air outlet to supply combustion air to the ignition oil gun. The top-level control system regulates the formation of nitrogen oxides.

  1. Material conveying fan Device Overview

 Material Conveying Fan – Material Conveying Fan Manufacturer

   Material conveying fan Provide air for fuel combustion and supply peripheral air to the pulverized coal burner and cooling burner nozzles; prevent air and powder from separating and deflecting at the primary air nozzle, which could lead to slagging on the water-cooled walls; install an ignition device at the lowest secondary air outlet to supply combustion air to the ignition oil gun; and control nitrogen oxide formation at the top level.

  2. Pre-start inspection and preparation

  1) Pre-startup inspection

  A. Confirm that the mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance has been completed, no maintenance personnel are working, and the work permit has been retrieved and canceled.

  B. The fan rotor does not rotate in reverse, and manual turning of the rotor is smooth with no jamming or friction.

  C. All temperature and vibration measurement points are in good condition; the motor insulation test has passed.

  D. Open the inlet and outlet valves for cooling water to the material conveying fan.

  E. The lubricating oil level is normal, and the oil level gauge is clear.

  F. Check the adjustment status of the inlet and outlet regulating dampers. Manually operate the electric actuator, moving it from fully closed to fully open and then from fully open to fully closed several times, and verify whether the actual local position matches the indication on the control screen.

  G. The measuring instruments and interlocking protection devices are in good working order.

  H. The cooling water for the material conveying fan bearings is in good condition and has been put into operation.

  I. Inspect the coupling and the motor (e.g., check the wiring to ensure the fan rotates correctly).

  L. After cleaning the furnace chamber and ventilation ducts, close the inspection holes and doors.

  J. The emergency stop button is intact and has passed the test.

  K. Inspect and close the inlet damper of the start-up fan and the outlet electric valve.

  2. Preparations Before Startup

  A. The electric damper at the outlet of the material conveying fan is closed;

  B. The inlet damper of the material conveying fan is closed;

  C. The damper in the flue before the dust collector is opened;

  D. Any induced draft fan is already running;

  E. The material conveying fan motor can only be started after the above-mentioned conditions are met.

  3. Commissioning of the material conveying fan

  1) If the material conveying fan is being operated for the first time, the operator should arrive at the fan’s site in advance to conduct a pre-operation inspection and then wait near the emergency stop button. After contacting the shift supervisor or the chief operator, start the fan motor via the DCS, and record the start-up time and no-load current.

  2) After starting the fan, check for any unusual sounds or vibrations. If any abnormal sounds or vibrations are detected, immediately stop the machine, identify the cause, eliminate the issue, and then restart it. The startup interval should comply with the motor’s startup requirements.

  3) Under no-load conditions, inspect or test the fan’s bearing vibration, temperature, and motor temperature.

  4) After installing or servicing a centrifugal fan, you should stop the fan 5 minutes before starting it up and observe whether there are any abnormalities or friction noises in various parts. Only after confirming that there are no issues can you officially start the fan.

  5) After starting the fan to its rated speed, open the fan inlet damper under load. The inlet damper should be opened in increments of 10%, 20%, 30%, and 50%, and each opening should be followed by stable operation for at least 30 minutes.

  6) Continuously monitor the fan’s current, damper opening, bearing vibration, and temperature under various operating conditions.
