The bearing temperature of the three-lobe Roots blower is also affected by the external environment. In winter, when room temperatures are lower, the three-lobe Roots blower operates smoothly (at a room temperature of 5°C, the front bearing temperature of the three-lobe Roots blower is around 80°C). In summer, however, when room temperatures rise above 30°C, the front bearing temperature of the three-lobe Roots blower exceeds the set trip temperature as the room temperature increases. To avoid shutdowns, the crew installed water spray cooling systems on the casing as an emergency measure. However, due to poor sanitary conditions during operations, we now recommend several simple and quick methods instead.

A Quick Method to Lower the Bearing Temperature of a Three-Blade Roots Blower

The bearing temperature of the three-lobe Roots blower is also affected by the external environment. In winter, when room temperatures are lower, Three-leaf Roots blower It’s operating smoothly (with the front bearing of the three-lobe Roots blower at around 80°C at room temperature of 5°C). In summer, when the room temperature rises above 30°C, the front bearing of the three-lobe Roots blower starts to exceed the preset trip temperature as the room temperature increases. To avoid pulling the drill string out of the well, the crew installed water spray cooling on the casing as an emergency measure. However, since hygiene conditions during operations are poor, we now recommend several simple and quick methods.

A Quick Method to Lower the Bearing Temperature of a Three-Blade Roots Blower

1. Installing a sunshade outside the fan is simple and practical, and is one of the direct ways to reduce the temperature.

2. If the temperature of axial-flow fans, wear-resistant fans, and other types of fans rises excessively, it is likely that the gate valves on the inlet and outlet pipes were not closed when the fan was started. Solution: Simply close the gate valves on both the inlet and outlet pipelines.

3. In addition, factors affecting the temperature of the fan bearings include severe vibration of the housing, misalignment during shaft and rolling bearing installation, eccentricity between the front and rear bearings, damage to the fan’s rolling bearings, or shaft bending. The solution is to promptly lubricate with oil to reduce the coefficient of friction.

4. The motor belt is too loose. Here, it’s important to replace the motor belt in a timely manner and adjust the position of the pulleys to ensure even tension on the belt.

The above is Three-leaf Roots blower Precautions and steps for assembly, as well as methods for quickly reducing bearing temperature.

What preparations need to be made before starting the Roots blower with three lobes?

(1) Inspect the installation quality of fasteners and locating pins.

(2) Inspect the installation quality of the intake and exhaust pipes and valves.

(3) Confirm that the assembly spacing of the blower meets the requirements.

(4) Inspect the impeller and motor of the three-lobe Roots blower. The coaxiality of the transmission shaft must not exceed 0.1 millimeter; otherwise, the blower may vibrate, leak oil, and have its service life shortened.

(5) Check whether the assembly base is secure around the perimeter and whether the anchor bolts are tightened.

(6) Before using the three-lobe Roots blower, add lubricating oil to both the main and auxiliary oil tanks, ensuring the oil level is between 3 mm and 2 mm from the center of the oil gauge. Use No. 68 oil in summer and No. 100 oil in winter. The lubricating oil should be replaced every three months.

(7) The pressure in the main and auxiliary fuel tanks causes the upper and lower oil plugs of the main and auxiliary fuel systems to tighten; otherwise, oil leakage may occur.

(8) Supply water to the cooling section. The cooling water temperature should not exceed 25°C, and the flow rate of the cooling water should be 10 L/min.

(9) Open the inlet and outlet valves of all three-lobe Roots blowers, move the rotors, and pay attention to whether there are any unusual noises in any part.

(10) The motor’s rotation must be consistent with the direction indicated on the rotation mark. Otherwise, the fan will fail to exhaust air properly and may experience blade collisions. When water bursts, it could flow back into the blower; during pneumatic conveying, the conveyed material could be sucked into the blower, leading to an accident.
